Ch. 5 is mostly about Wikipedia and how they can make it work, where Nupedia failed. Ch. 7 explains that with the technology we have today, we should be able to accomplish way more than we were ever able to. These chapters help form the overall idea of the story by showing how technology is taking over everything, like in a helpful way. An example of that would be Wikipedia, he talks about how Wikipedia is able to maintain their website by not having any official workers and by just average people. The Gladwell article talks about how social tools have changed rapidly in recent years and how it is making it easier to communicate with each other. An example of that is people talking on twitter and having groups on Facebook. Both Shirky and Gladwell talk about technology changing how people communicate, through twitter or Facebook, or finding out information on Wikipedia.
